In the glass, this whiskey is brilliant copper, with mildly sweet aromas of vanilla and honey. Hints of toffee, berries, spice and fresh mint on the palate are followed by an elegant and warm finish of soft toasted oak. At its launch, this small-batch Kentucky spirit was the first truly new variety of American straight wheat whiskey introduced since Prohibition. Winter wheat gives it a soft, sweet, approachable taste, and it’s aged seven years in new, charred oak barrels for complexity. Its unique mashbill (winter wheat, corn and malted barley) and multi-layered aromas and flavors, earned it the Pioneer Whiskey of the Year Award by Malt Advocate Magazine.
