Introducing High West Cask Strength – a bold, masterfully blended whiskey that captures the rugged spirit of the Utah mountains. This exceptional blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskeys, aged 6–10 years. Especially selected from the Mountains of Utah. Taste candied lemon, apple fritters, caramel corn, almond nougat, blackstrap molasses, and weathered hickory wood.

Since High West has focused primarily on rye whiskey, it’s exciting to finally see them releasing a cask strength bourbon, though it has not been a typical release so far, as it feels more like an expanded single barrel program.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Bright Gold.

Nose: Butter-poached green apples, candied Meyer lemons, cornbread drizzled with honey, brioche toast points, crushed walnuts, allspice, sarsaparilla, fresh hay, new wooden porch swing.
Palate: Sweet plantains with cinnamon, dried apricots, peach crumble, homemade toffee, Earl Grey Crème tea, nutmeg, rose, hickory, seasoned oak.

Finish: kumquat, white chocolate, velvety spice.
