This Mezcal is produced from espadin agave baked in clay ovens and ground with a millstone in the traditional method, before being distilled in pot stills. Aging for thirteen months in a combination of American and French oak lends a color and flavor profile reminiscent of aged whiskey and rum that could also rival the world’s finest Scotches and Cognacs. Its maple, clove and bitter orange aromas are joined by dark chocolate and sweet agave on the palate, and a round, full finish. Each bottle is hand numbered; this is a special spirit meant to be sipped and savored, and it won Best of the Best at the 2012 Tequila.net Awards.
