“My gin is made in the UK, the country that brought you the Hawker Hurricane and the Triumph Spitfire. It is created by men in parkas in cold sheds, then produced in industrial quantities in a drinks laboratory, controlled by computers.”

I had an idea for a gin that is very British, using parsnip - which reminds me of dampness - combined with the spicy sparkle of the Asian spices found in Indian food. So, we created the unimaginatively named Asian Parsnip - celebrating both the homely flavor of that most English of root vegetables and the gastric stimulus of spices from India.

The Key Botanicals: Parsnip, Grains of Paradise, Rosemary.

The Taste: Parsnip was used historically as a sweetener and has a uniquely nutty profile. Combined with spices of the Far East – ginger and green cardamom – Asian Parsnip is a warming gin with lingering light sweet notes.

This gin celebrates both my homeland and the pleasures I’ve enjoyed over many decades of international travel at other people’s expense. It sounds like a slightly mad idea, but then so did the telephone and look where that’s got us. It has won many awards and is officially acknowledged as a vital component of UK multiculturalism.
