Sourced from one of the world's most historic, and epic, rum distilleries - this is one of best achievements to date in this series - a rum with incredible provenance, age, complexity and elegance all at a very impressive value. A vintage rum distilled in both historic pot and column stills in 2011, the 50 esters and 208 grams of volatile compounds per hectoliter add the perfect canvas of funk for the beautiful and exquisitely crafted tropical fruit and spice elements of the rum to take form. Notably the pot still used here was the legendary and one-of-a-kind wooden Port Mourant still.
This is a pure, direct and transparent rum with most of the aging taking place in France after 2yrs of tropical aging, then 10 years in ex bourbon and a full 10 month finish in used cognac French oak making this rum just 2 months shy of its 13th birthday. Bottled at a natural cask strength with absolutely zero additives.
