Santa Teresa is excited to launch its first limited-edition cask finish series.
Santa Teresa 1796 Speyside Whisky Cask Finish is a limited-edition expression of our triple-aged, award-winning flagship Santa Teresa 1796 Rum. This exquisite rum is inspired by 225 years of tradition and has been crafted by our skilled Maestros Roneros. Using the time-honored Solera method, it is triple-aged for extra richness, then aged again for up to 13 months in Speyside whisky casks, meaning that the Speyside cask finish expression passes through 4 distinct types of oak barrels before being bottled. The result is a deep, rich experience that offers the best of fine rum and fine whisky in every sip.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Deep reddish amber.
Nose: Whisky-cask aging imparts a distinctively rich aroma of whisky accentuated by caramelized brown sugar with undertones of baked fruit, woody spice, and light notes of smoke.
Palate: Familiar tastes of toffee and sugarcane honey blended with apricot, dried fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate, giving way to notes of malted barley and wood with a hint of smoke.
Finish: The long dry finish evaporates into tingling notes of black pepper.
Rum with a purpose. Santa Teresa Rum is as passionate about transforming lives as we are about rum. That's why Santa Teresa Rum established and actively supports Project Alcatraz, a unique and inspirational initiative that transforms the lives of criminals and gang members to set them on a better, more rewarding path.
Traditional Aging:
Three types of rums aged separately, with complex flavors and aromas, are carefully blended by the maestros roneros.
Solera Cask Aging:
Aged through four rows of hogshead barrels, transferring only half of each barrel in a waterfall effect, from top to bottom, keeping the original ron madre from 1992, acquiring a superior refinement.
Solera Vat Aging:
Aged a third time in large vats made of French limousine oak, which are never emptied, achieving smoothness and balance.
Speyside whisky cask finish:
For this limited edition the triple-aged solera Santa Teresa 1796 is finished for a minimum of 13 months in Speyside whisky casks, for an extraordinary smoky finish.
