This 2026 release is the inaugural bottling in the new Austin Nichols Archives Collection, drawn from 16-year-old barrels primarily aged in the distillery's Camp Nelson F, D, and E rickhouses
The Austin Nichols Archives Collection is Wild Turkey's new limited-edition annual series, launched after the Master's Keep series concluded. Named after the wholesale grocer that helped create the Wild Turkey brand in the 1940s, the Archives series draws from defining eras in the distillery's history. Gold Foil Edition pays homage to Wild Turkey's celebrated "Cheesy Gold Foil" bottlings originally released between 1985 and 1992.
Austin Nichols Archives is the first Wild Turkey series led solely by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell, conceived as a tribute to his grandfather, legendary Master Distiller Jimmy Russell.
Tasting Notes:
On the nose, it shows mature oak "funk," dried fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg, and walnut. The palate brings cherry cola, clove, dark caramel, tobacco, and cocoa, and the finish carries an extremely long clot of peppery spice, brown sugar, oak tannins, and leather.
Gold Foil Edition was crafted with extended aging and higher proof to recreate the mature-oak "funk" that defines collectible Glut Era Wild Turkey - a personal passion project Bruce Russell conceived more than a decade ago. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
